I’ve had the Google Nexus 7 tablet for about three years now and it’s starting to slow down so I thought that it was due for an upgrade.
I then went to my local BestBuy and looked around for the best tablet that would meet my needs and I ended up getting the 32GB model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 which was retailing for $399.99.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a bit on the expensive side at $399.99 which is almost the same price as the Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display. However, you do get what you pay for as this tablet not only offers a lot of features but also a nice, comfortable design.
The pixel-dense display boasts a 2,560×1600 resolution at 359 PPI (pixels per inch). It has a super sharp screen with great wide viewing angles, making viewing movies/videos or playing video games on this device satisfying.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a mid-sized tablet that features a faux-leather back with fake stitching, wrapped around by a silver frame. This tablet is lightweight and comfortable to hold in the hand.
In terms of software, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 runs on the latest version of TouchWiz, powered by Android 4.4 KitKat. It also has good-quality, solid hardware partnered with a smooth performance, I haven’t experienced any lag in the short time that I have had/used this device.
I don’t really use my tablets for taking photos and I don’t plan on doing so with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. It has a decent camera for recording photos and videos but not something that would replace your smartphone camera.
The dual speakers situated at the bottom of the device and for a tablet, it offers pretty good quality and loud sound.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a great tablet as long as you have the budget. It offers a lot of features, speedy performance, and top-of-the-line specs. So far, I’m loving it and I don’t regret buying it.
