Hi guys! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season so far. Today, we’re going to share with you the long overdue review of the Sounds Good Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds that we unboxed a couple of months back.

Before we proceed with the detailed product review, we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the folks from Sounds Good, especially Philippe Langlois (one of the co-founders), for sending us a cool pair of Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds that we used for this review.
At the time of writing this review, the Sounds Good Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds has a 4.5-star rating based on 520 reviews on the Amazon Canada website. If you’ll notice, most of the reviews are in French because the company is based in Quebec and most of its customers are from that area.
ULTIMATE V6 WIRELESS EARBUDS REVIEW
PACKAGING
As you can see in the images below, the Ultimate V6 Wireless comes in a simple, yet attractive-looking box.
The bottom part of the box contains some of the basic product information and specifications as well as a bar code and product serial number.
You’ll notice from the image above that there’s not much inside the package except for the Ultimate V6 wireless earbuds, the charging case, extra silicone tips, and the user manual.
Based on what the folks from Sounds Good have told me, this was done on purpose. By keeping the packaging simple and using fewer items, the package is more cost-effective and environment-friendly because it limits the number of waste materials. As we all know based on experience, most items included in today’s products usually end up being thrown in the trash.
DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
Personally, I like the design and shape of the Sounds Good Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds because it has a smaller profile, making them more inconspicuous compared to other wireless earbuds that have long tips like the Apple AirPods or the Anker Soundcore Life P2 Mini.
When you hold the earbuds in your hands, you can tell that its made with good quality materials and they don’t feel cheap or flimsy at all.
The Ultimate V6 doesn’t only look and feel good in the hand but also when you wear it. The package includes extra silicone tips in various sizes, so make sure to pick/use one that fits you well.
COMPATIBILITY & PERFORMANCE
Although the user manual only mentions iOS & Android, the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds should work with any smartphone that has Bluetooth capability.
SETUP & PAIRING
For the initial setup, all you need to do is place the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds in your ears and then turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone. Search for “Ultimate V6” from Available devices and pair it. If you don’t see it on the list of available devices, just scan/rescan Bluetooth and it should show up.
If for some reason, the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds don’t want to pair or show the error message “pairing not accepted“, just quickly tap 5 times on both earbuds simultaneously. During the testing process, I tried unpairing and then repairing the earbuds on my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G and I can confirm that tapping on the earbuds enables the unit to pair again.
I also tried pairing the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds with other smartphones like my wife’s iPhone 11 and old devices like the Samsung Galaxy A50, Samsung Galaxy A20, and even the Nexus 6P. I was able to pair and use the earbuds on those devices without any issues.
If you already paired the earbuds on your devices, you don’t have to pair them each time you connect to your device. You just have to turn on Bluetooth and select Ultimate V6 from the Paired devices list.
AUDIO QUALITY & CONNECTION
For testing purposes, I put on the earbuds and listened to a popular YouTube video designed for testing headphone quality and I was happy to see that the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds pass the majority of the tests with high scores.
Another test I did was I tried listening to some mp3s and left my phone in the basement. Then I went up to the 1st and 2nd levels of our home, and the audio quality was steady and clear the whole time.
Aside from listening to mp3s and watching videos, I also tested the audio quality and performance of the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds for phone calls and video calls. From the numerous test calls that I made, the voice output was always very loud and clear and I didn’t encounter any dropped connections or bad audio quality.
The built-in microphone on each earpiece not only allows hands-free calling but also provides clear and crisp audio for the person you’re talking to so they can hear and understand you well.
BATTERY LIFE & CHARGING
In terms of battery life, I haven’t used the earbuds long enough to test the battery’s full capacity but based on the user reviews I’ve read online, the Ultimate V6’s battery life is really good and lives up to what is advertised.
Charging the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds can be done through the USB-C port on the back of the charging case or you can also purchase a wireless charger like the 15W Wireless Charger that Sounds Good is selling as an accessory on their website.
NOTE: The earbuds don’t have a dedicated ON/OFF switch or button. If you want to turn it ON, just take it out of the charging case and if you want to turn it OFF, put it back inside the charging case.
PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION
One of the best if not the best features of the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds is its passive noise cancellation that blocks out distracting ambient noise. I tested it around the house and I couldn’t hear my wife loudly talking with someone on the phone (on loudspeaker) even though she was practically in front of me.
TOUCH FUNCTIONS
The coolest feature of the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds for me personally, is the touch functions. Not only does it allow you to answer and make calls or go through your music playlist with ease but it also makes you feel like you’re a spy or a member of the Secret Service.
Based on my experience, the touch functions were accurate and responsive. The different touch functions are printed on the user manual so make sure to read it so you can make use of this handy feature.
AFFORDABILITY
Based on the available wireless earbuds on Amazon Canada, the Ultimate V6’s price point places it somewhere in the mid-range spectrum.
The Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds may not be the cheapest wireless earbuds, but based on their quality, features, and performance, it offers the best quality-price ratio in the market right now.
Aside from the budget-friendly price, another thing worth noting is the company’s excellent customer service quality reflected in the reviews left by satisfied customers.
If you get the Ultimate V6 from the official Sounds Good website, you can return the unit free of charge within 15 days of receipt and get a full refund. The earbuds are also covered by a 1-year Durability Warranty, so if the unit you purchased is defective, it will be replaced with a new pair.
FINAL TAKE
Based on my experience using the Ultimate V6 Wireless Earbuds in the past 3 months, I haven’t experienced any problems or issues with the connection, audio quality, or any other feature.
