As a small business owner, I definitely need to back up files more often. This seems like the perfect solution.

  2. As a student and a photography enthusiast it’s important to have a hard drive that is reliable. This WD hard drive provides the protection Throughout my undergraduate studies, graduate studies, and photography projects

  3. Alvin Gonzalessays:

The amount of data people downloads and saves these days are massive. I have a 3 TB Seagate External HD and I barely have any room left after filling it with pictures in RAW files and home videos. I like the fact that Western Digital My Cloud have a removable HD in RAID configuration ( Easy install and hot swap feature) and the easy remote accessibility from other devices are a noted plus. I think this is a solid hardware.

    1. I know, right? With the megapixels constantly increasing in cameras and mobile devices, it’s inevitable that you’ll eventually run out of storage space. Especially if you keep it in RAW format like you do. Thanks for joining and all the best!

  4. Ana Guerrerosays:

The way I take pictures, you can’t ever have enough hard drives for backup! Good luck to everyone! And thanks, JP!

  5. Miroslaw Gugulasays:

The feature I like the most is the automatic backup of photos stored in the Android smartphone (and I guess it works the same way for iPhone) – all the files are backed up on the drive.
When you are away shooting your photos, all your photos are copied to your home cloud: once you are back home, they are just handy and available instantly.

    1. The automatic backup currently works only for the Android version of the WD My Cloud app. Hopefully they’ll add that to the iOS version soon. Thanks for joining and all the best!

  6. I love the large storage space, the fast processor and the fact that your files can be access by other devices. I could use this for all of our family pictures, and I work from home and have several documents I would store on it. Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. Jerry Laffertysays:

I run a dual boot system with Mac OSX Yosemite and Windows 7, The WD My Cloud supports automatic backup for mac with Time Machine and windows with WD Smartware Pro, that makes this a must have in my book. The Access anywhere feature is also another must have. I need one pretty bad.

    1. Sounds like a cool setup. I’ve only tried dual booting Windows and Ubuntu. I think I should try that on my old Macbook Pro. Thanks for joining and all the best!

      1. Jerry Laffertysays:

Mine is a hackintosh, running Mac OSX with an Intel i7 4790K overclocked to run at 4.8 MHz.Makes photo and video editing smooth like butter.

  8. Bjørnar Berntsensays:

As a photographer all the features that come with this design is all what a photographer wants, the speed for me to transfer files quicker that’s a plus and file backups that’s really important for me as a photographer.

  9. Steven Epsteinsays:

the ability for the whole family to back up all there files to your own cloud and also be able to share and stream content

  10. I like that it’s Western Digital — always reliable in my experience. My NAS has just died so I’d use it for pretty much all my shared storage.

  11. I like the fact that you can access it wherever and from any device. At the same time, you have the options to change the privacy settings of the users sharing the WD MyCloud. A high performance and quality private cloud storage! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Peter! Glad you could join this giveaway. Yes, the EX2 is an awesome NAS or private cloud solution which you can use not only for work but also for personal stuff. :)

  12. I like that it is Apple Time Machine compatible and has the free apps: My Cloud desktop app, My Cloud mobile app, and WD Photos mobile app. I’ll use it to store all the pics we all take, including my son and daughter, and to store their and my college work. Also, all of our video media.

    1. Yeah, the Apple Time Machine support is very useful for Mac users. Haven’t tried it yet though on my wife’s Macbook Pro. Thanks for joining the giveaway.

  13. As a web designer, videographer, and photo enthusiast this device will benefit me most with its fast data transfer, multiple backups to protect my precious files and the large data storage to accommodate my photos, videos and program files.

  14. I’d give this as a gift to a friend who is a filmmaker…”blazing fast” transfer speeds would really make him happy!!

  15. Frisky Kaunangsays:

Definitely a back up for my videos and movies!! Esp from my phones. Its always good to have 1 good source of a back up that will last forever. Wish me luck!! Lol

    1. Hey stranger! Glad you could join this giveaway. With all those movies you have, you definitely need one of these or if you have one, then you need another one. Hehe

      All the best! :D

  16. You know me. I like words like “unlimited.” 4TB is pretty darned close (although I remember my husband predicting that I could NEVER fill up 1TB…hah, fooled HIM!) It may even be overkill – for now. I like overkill.

And with a new DSLR, I’m chewing through storage faster than ever. Like Rover, up there, I’d like secure backup for my photos and my writing. Picture books make for huge digital files, too.

And it’s WD. Reliability is critical when you’re using it for all your backups.

    1. Hi Holly! Glad to see you join this giveaway. Yeah, I purposely used the word “unlimited” as a bait for you. Hehe just kidding!

Yup, those new cameras dish out large files and you need to have a place to keep all of ’em.

    1. The HD streaming quality and speed is awesome. I didn’t notice any lag while testing it. Of course it helps if you have a very good Internet connection plus the location of the router is close by.

  17. Linda Szymoniaksays:

I like that it’s fast. With three people with laptops at our house, things can get rather sluggish at times. I’d like to be able to back up my files quickly and get back to what I need to do.

    1. Yeah, the upload and download speeds are pretty fast on this thing even for wireless connection. Although, whenever I can I do the uploads/downloads while plugged in to the router.

  18. nicole dziedzicsays:

The features that I like best is the Multiple backup and RAID options. Would love to use this for my pictures and videos.

  19. For me it has to be all the apps that the MyCloud can run…that’s a lot of load removed from my PC….that’s pretty epic!

    1. Yeah, that’s another very useful feature of this device and it would benefit users who have old computers or devices that don’t have a lot of storage space and computing power like the Chromebook and Macbook Air.

  20. Steve Robillardsays:

I like that this comes from WD. I have had my share of hardware fail over the years (I run a small software business from my home) including 2 or 3 hard drives. But WD is the best at doing RMA Warranty Service. I have never had a problem, they send out a replacement very quickly without waiting to eval the dead one. There service and support is excellent.

    1. I’ve had a couple WD products before but never had an issue where I needed to deal with their warranty service. It’s good to hear that they provide service in that area. Thanks for joining the giveaway.

  21. All features are great. Can be found with similar storage solutions but i think it’s getting to be today’s standards. I would definitely love to have a centralised location for all my media files. I’d like to try this too.

    1. Hey, good to see you back here. Having something like the EX2 to keep all your media files and being able to access it anywhere is simply awesome.

Hope everything’s well with you and your family. :D

  22. Janelle scintasays:

I really like that I can access my files anywhere in the house. The bf and i like to watch movies in bed but right now all my files are on my pc downstairs. This’ll take a ton of stress off of my gaming rig >. >

  23. As a photographer all the features that come with this design is all what a photographer wants haha, the speed for me to transfer files quicker that’s a plus and file backups that’s really important for me as a photographer because when past client wanted from pictures from then the file is secured without me worrying about it being missing …and how I would use this well im sure you do know already haha I will use this to store all my photos I taken for my photography projects.
