WordCamp Philippines

WordCamp Philippines

If you’re a Pinoy blogger or a WordPress user/fan then most likely you’ve heard or read of this already. But in case you haven’t, I have good news for you. There will be a WordCamp held in the Philippines this coming September 6, 2008. If you don’t know what I’m talking about here’s a little info.

What is WordCamp?

WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people. WordCamp is a spin off from the popular BarCamp which was a spin off of FooCamp. - Weblog Tools Collection

WordCamp Philippines will be the first ever WordCamp organized and held in Asia. WordCamp Philippines is being organized by a group of Filipino bloggers based in Mindanao who were also responsible for organizing the successful 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit held last year.

What are the objectives of WordCamp Philippines?

…to encourage more developers to use and deploy WordPress, not only as a blogging engine but also as a full-featured content management system for Web sites. Another is to increase the number of WordPress users and developers in the country. By developers, we mean programmers of WordPress plugins and designers of themes & templates.

This survey is for their final study in Psychology 118 class (Field Methods in Psychology), they would like to explore the blogging phenomenon in the Philippines. They need your help in filling out this survey to help them understand what motivates you to blog, how blogging has helped you and how much of yourself is present in your blogs.

They need 250 bloggers for this survey.

Qualifications:
1. Must be a Filipino by blood or citizenship
2. Must be residing in the Philippines
3. Must own and maintain a personal blog

Privacy will be respected and all results will be kept anonymous. All blog URLs will be deleted after the study has been completed. At the end of the survey, you may opt to receive the survey results.

If you have any questions about this survey, you can send an email to:
sikolohiya118 [at] gmail [dot] com

So far, 170 bloggers have already responded and they need 80 more respondents. I’ve already done the survey and if you’re qualified, you should do too. It only takes a couple minutes of your time and you’ll be helping these students with their project.

@Allen - I didn’t know of any required token. All I did was to open the URL in my browser and started answering the survey questions.
