Got me a new cellphone 2 weeks ago. I wasn't able to blog about it right away coz aside from being preoccupied with personal matters, I was also busy installing programs, games, themes, transferring contact information, updating contacts, adding ringtones and other stuff on my cellphone. My previous phone was a Sony Ericsson W810i walkman phone from Cingular and the reason why I got a new cellphone wasn't because the Sony Ericsson W810i sucked, it was a nice cellphone with good features but it wasn't enough for me. What I wanted needed was a PDA/Smartphone which I can use as an organizer, planner and let me browse the web, check emails and lots of other stuff. One option was to get an unlocked unit but because it was quite expensive, I decided to get one from my carrier, AT&T's (formerly Cingular) website.I chose to get my cellphone online because that way I wouldn't have to go out and drive, I could take my time browsing through the different cellphones without being bothered by the salesperson and I can check product ratings and reviews on the Internet. Aside from that, I could also avail of certain discounts which are only available online. I ended up choosing the AT&T Tilt which is also known as the HTC TyTN II or HTC Kaiser. Retail price for the AT&T Tilt is $549.99 but with a 2-year contract extension, you can get it for $299 after a $100 mail-in rebate.
