Weekend Roundup

Better late than never, right? Here’s the late issue of last week’s weekend roundup. Enjoy!

You might be wondering why I haven’t published any posts the past few days and also why this issue of the Weekend Roundup was very late. The reason behind it was because I was sick. I got the flu last week and have been recovering the past few days. I’m really sorry if I wasn’t able to immediately reply to your comments, emails and publish the Weekend Roundup on time. I’m still haven’t completely recovered but I hope that things would be better this week. Have a good week and stay healthy everyone!

Firefox 3 Beta 1 is out. I think Safari still lacks a lot on Windows, though. ;)

Someone from Grisoft commented on my post about the AVG rant on how to deal with the annoyance of that pop-up update window. Tried it, it didn’t work for me.

hope you recover real quick dude.

@FruityOaty – I haven’t tried Defensio myself but most of the bloggers I know who’ve tried it aren’t happy with it’s performance. Thanks for sharing about the WP-SpamFree plugin. I’ll probably give it a try as soon as I find the time.

I’ll probably install Easy Gravatars once it supports MyBlogLog avatars.

I’m feeling better now. Thanks! :D

I’ll pass on the Defensio… The one I’ve been testing (and I like it so far in combo with Bad Behavior and Akismet) is a new plugin called WP-SpamFree. Not one automated spam in the last 6 days with that 3 plugin combo.

I installed Easy Gravatars 1.0 (then 1.1 update) when it came out. Easy peasy Gravatars, awesome, although some people have commented that their Gravatars don’t always show up (but does on other sites, hmm).

Lastly, wishing you a speedy recovery back to full health. :)
