In the past, users who blog on their tablets and other mobile devices had to switch to their laptops or desktop computers if they needed to access files from their Media Library. Now with WordPress for Android 2.5, they have direct access to their medial files which makes it more convenient and saves time.

Also in this new version, users can now create tiled galleries with photos and other media files without the need for photo editing software. To do that, just long-press to select multiple files, tap the gallery button to create the new gallery, and select the gallery-style. Users could also edit the file Title, Description, or Caption as well as arrange/organize the photos by simply dragging and dropping them around.

For those who have a WordPress.com blog, you can now use the new Theme Browser to search, preview, and activate a new blog theme right from your mobile device. If you’re looking for a particular theme or feature, just go to the “Themes” menu on the navigation drawer and search for it using the ActionBar and results will be shown instantly. Btw, the Theme Browser requires Administrator rights so if you only have an Editor, Author, Contributor, or Subscriber, then unfortunately you won’t be able to use or try this feature.

The dev team has also redesigned the Stats section and replaced the web-based version with a slicker and nicer looking native version. Thru the ActionBar, users can filter key stats by – Visitors and Views, Totals, Followers & Shares, Clicks, Referrers, and Search Engine Terms. Users can view more stats by tapping on the “View full site” option in the menu.

WordPress for Android 2.5 is compatible with all devices running Android OS versions 2.1 and up.
