I’m Attending WordCamp Denver 2020

WordCamp Denver 2020

It’s undeniable that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a lot of pain and suffering around the world. Close to 8 million confirmed cases, almost half a million deaths, and several million people were unemployed worldwide. But in spite of all that, there are also some positive things that have come about from this situation.

One of them is the proliferation of online events. Because of the lockdown/quarantine measures, many events had to be canceled while others were converted into online or virtual events. A good example is the popular annual Comic-Con held at San Diego, California. This year, event organizers decided to replace it with something called Comic-Con@Home which is a virtual equivalent of the event and admission is FREE.

In my case, I was able to join different WordPress group online meetups the past few days. To add to that, I’m also going to attend WordCamp Denver 2020. All of this wouldn’t have been possible if not for this pandemic.

WordCamp Denver 2020 is FREE and if you’re interested in joining, head over to this link to get your virtual ticket. By the way, all attendees will receive a digital swag bag. I’m not sure what will be in that swag bag but who doesn’t like free stuff?

I’m not sure if the WordCamp Denver organizers will be recording the event but if they do, it will most likely be uploaded to WordPress.tv. I will update this post once I verify if there will be a recording and provide the link to it.

Anyone else planning on attending WordCamp Denver 2020 or other online WordCamps scheduled later this year? If you are, please share with us which WordCamp you’ve attended or plan on attending by leaving a comment below.
