Weekend Roundup #15

If you’ve been waiting for the Weekend Roundup, pardon the delay. No, I’m not on hiatus neither have I forgotten about it. I just changed the schedule for posting this weekly feature. Previously, I published it at the start of the weekend but then I noticed that I don’t have that much time to do it on a Friday so I decided to do it on a Saturday night or Sunday morning here in the US. Anyways, I hope you don’t mind the change in schedule and I hope you like this week’s roundup. Enjoy!

  1. @K – If you have questions about any of those tips, just drop me an email and I’d be glad to explain them to you.

Having fewer plugins is better but having lots of plugins isn’t bad at all. What the author was emphasizing was deactivating and deleting unused plugins.

Regarding ads, if the ad is using external scripts like javascript used in Google Adsense it will add to your blog’s loading time.

  2. I can’t follow much on the ‘speeding up wordpress’ tips. Although I admit, using too much of plugins can cause a “stagnant” effect on a blog, but surely, they are addicting to use.

Do you think our ads makes our blog run slower as well?

  3. @mrniceash – I already did, remember your modified version of the Better Comments Plugin? I featured that in the first edition of Weekend Roundup. :)

Hehe, I’ve read it already but cleaning up this blog is not my priority right now coz I’m still busy with other more important stuff. :D

  4. haha. i never thought i can ever make it again to your Round up. Whew! What an honor…

And that WPCandy thing? I don’t want to read it just yet… No time for general cleaning :)
