Steve Jobs Announces Apple iPhone

Apple iPhone

Just a few hours ago, Steve Jobs announced four new products at the MacWorld 2007. It’s no surprise though that the most awaited one of course was the Apple iPhone. Below are some excerpts from Steve Job’s iPhone keynote speech:

This is a day I’ve been looking forward to for two-and-a-half years. Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything. And Apple has been – well, first of all, one’s very fortunate if you get to work on just one of these in your career. Apple’s been very fortunate. It’s been able to introduce a few of these into the world. 1984, introduced the Macintosh. It didn’t just change Apple. It changed the whole computer industry.

In 2001, we introduced the first iPod, and it didn’t just change the way we all listen to music, it changed the entire music industry. Well, today, we’re introducing three revolutionary products of this class. The first one is a widescreen iPod with touch controls. The second is a revolutionary mobile phone. And the third is a breakthrough Internet communications device. So, three things: a widescreen iPod with touch controls; a revolutionary mobile phone; and a breakthrough Internet communications device. An iPod, a phone, and an Internet communicator. An iPod, a phone … are you getting it? These are not three separate devices, this is one device, and we are calling it iPhone. Today, Apple is going to reinvent the phone, and here it is. No, actually here it is, but we’re going to leave it there for now.

Now, we’re going to start with a revolutionary user interface. It is the result of years of research and development, and of course, it’s an interplay of hardware and software.

The iPhone is a combination of a mobile phone, a touch control iPod and an Internet communication device that has web browsing & email capabilities and more. The Apple iPhone has no buttons, only a multi-touch screen.

I’m definitely adding this to my wishlist!

  1. @joni – XSS is cross-site scripting and it is a type of computer security vulnerability that's usually found in web apps that allow code to be injected by malicious users or hackers into web pages viewed by other users.

btw, if you're gonna upgrade to 2.0.6, you don't need the fix. but if you need the fix, you can find it here. just follow the simple steps and you're done. let me know if you have any problems with it and i'll try to help you. :)

  2. I didn’t notice any changes on my theme layout after the upgrade. If you don’t want to upgrade, you can just apply the fix for the XSS vulnerabilities.
