Technologies evolution has come a long way in the past decade. Now more than ever, dozens of Start-ups and established tech companies are working round the clock to improve the way we process and consume data, communicate, transact, drive cars, operate machines, etc.

Today, we’re at a fast-paced turning point, and it’s not a question of if there will be more technological innovations, but when. Either way, it’s astonishing how technologies changed our lives in 2020. Studies believe that we’ll live in a fully automated world by 2030, judging by the achievements made so far. But before then, here are six technology trends that have influenced us so far.

Who would have imagined that there would be a much safer, encrypted, and a decentralized digital way of storing and exchanging assets? Well, cryptos came to ensure that you can make payments and store money securely without going to the bank. Thanks to Blockchain, a distributed public ledger, currency holders can run and record all transactions made in a click of a button.

Some of the most common cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Libra, and Litcoin. Though some appeared more than half a decade ago, 2020 is the year when we realized the real asset in them. And one sector that has benefited from cryptocurrencies is the gaming industry. All the same, the electrical connections made so far have already led to increased productions, improved living standards, healthcare, and education. More interestingly, there have been developments of supplementary power sources like solar systems and waste-to-energy plants. 2020 has seen the discovery of technologies and solutions for the effective treatment of illnesses and injuries. The inception of digital healthcare has brought about new cures for bacteria living in our bodies, more advanced cancer treatments, genomic analysis, data analysis, and more.

Moreover, data-driven healthcare has caused the possibility of more customized treatments with reference to genetics, behavior, and environmental factors. Even better, the ability to print organ tissues in 3D forms will enable health specialists to study body organs like kidneys and hearts, and come up with better treatments. There’s also been the incorporation of AI in the diagnosis of such fields as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI.


AgriTech is the use of technology in agriculture to improve production, yields, and profits. It has seen the introduction of technologies like AI, computer vision, and big data. These innovations have been introduced to farms using gadgets like drones to monitor crop growth and production.

Robots that help in harvesting crops and fruits have also emerged, and soon enough, they’ll become household regulars. Indoor farming companies are also formulating technologies helping the environment through improved crop growth regulation.

Digital transformation has become a reality in 2020. Look around, and you’ll notice that nearly everyone is using a smartphone. That’s a clear indication of how dependent we’ve become on smart devices. They’ve made it easier for us to book rides, pay bills, order meals, connect with friends, keep diaries, and more.

And in case you haven’t noticed, we’ve evolved from aerial cellphones to buttoned phones, and now we’re at touch screens. These technologies’ degree of progress over the past decade has created new opportunities for businesses, learning tactics, entertainment, apps generations, and so on.
