You could choose which web browser and also specify which version to use for the test. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox has only 1 option but Internet Explorer, Safari, Android and Blackberry have several options to choose from.

Another thing you can configure are Test Agents (Locations). You can choose which location you want the test to perform. There are 3 groups to choose from – America, Europe & Middle East and Asia, Australia, Africa. If you want to narrow it down to a more specific location, you can also select different locations from each group.

Once you’ve selected your preferred browser and Test Agent (Locations), click on Start Test (don’t forget to answer the captcha). When the test results are done, it will display the load time for each agent location. If you click on an Agent Location, it will display the load time and page size from that location.

Aside from the load time, page size, server responses you could also get more information by clicking on the “View Waterfall” under Test Results. It will open up a new window and display the Performance Report.

The Performance Report provides more detailed information about the website speed test by providing different statistics such as Total Size in KB Total, Total Number of Objects, Number of Hosts Connected, Number of Images, Javascripts, CSS, and HTML files, Server side errors, Client-side errors, 10% Fastest elements, 10% Slowest elements and a Waterfall Chart to help you determine which specific areas or items are causing problems to your website’s speed.
