Remember the Musicanywhere Adrenaline Series AD0503 Bluetooth earphones that I unboxed recently? After trying out this cool set of earphones for a couple of weeks, now I’m ready to share with you my thoughts in this hands-on review.
Finding a set of Bluetooth earphones that can provide both good audio quality and premium quality at an affordable price is a little bit tricky. However, there are still some good options out there and one of them is the Musicanywhere AD0503.
PACKAGING & COLOR OPTIONS
I enjoyed unboxing the Musicanywhere AD0503 because of the quality of the packaging. The box looks and feels “premium” and contains basic information you need to know about the AD0503. While the box keeps the unit and included accessories neatly stored and secured, it was easy to open and access.
The package contains the following: AD0503 earphones, 2 extra sets of ear tips, 2 extra sets of ear hooks, 2 cord management clips, a shirt clip, USB to micro USB charging cable, carrying pouch bag, and a user manual.
The unit I received is the all-black model but the AD0503 is also available in a black & red model.
DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
The AD0503 is one of the models in Musicanywhere’s Adrenaline Series lineup with more designs/models coming up in the near future. Its materials are made of a combination of rubber (ear tips, ear hooks, cable) and plastic (housing, microphone & controls) which are very comfortable and have a solid feel to it.
The AD0503 features magnetized earpieces designed to keep them from dangling around your neck when not in use as well as for easier storage. With an IPX4 rating, it is dust and sweat-resistant, making it an ideal companion for gym workouts, sports activities, or other outdoor activities.
What I really liked about the AD0503 is that they were very comfortable to use even for extended periods of time. With other earphones, I had to take them off after some time because they started causing irritation and some pain in my ear lobes. The ear tips and ear hooks provided come in 3 different sizes so make sure to choose the best size for you.
Another nice feature of the AD0503 is the cable. Its flat, memory-free and tangle-free design has been an absolute delight. Tangled cables is a common issue and frustration with the regular wired earphones & headphones. Like most wireless earphones, the AD0503 is designed to be worn around the neck to keep the cable from dangling or from getting tangled with objects in front of you.
UPDATE: The Musicanywhere AD0503 is very durable! I accidentally left the earphones in my sweatpants pocket after working out and I forgot to take it out for laundry. I was shocked when I realized what just happened and I thought to myself that the earphones were a goner. But to my surprise, it turned back ON and worked without any problems. The AD0503 survived a full cycle of washing (50 minutes) and two cycles of drying (30 minutes).
SETUP & CONNECTIVITY
To power, the device ON or OFF, just press the Play button for about 3 seconds. The LED light will blink blue if it’s ON and red if it’s OFF.
Setting up the AD0503 was pretty easy. It didn’t take me more than a couple of minutes to pair it with the Nexus 6P, iPhone 6, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.
To start pairing, while the AD0503 is turned OFF press the Play button for about 6 seconds. If you hear the sound prompts or see the LED lights blinking blue & red alternately then it is ready for pairing. Next, turn on the Bluetooth on your device and connect it to the AD0503.
Based on my usage during the past couple of weeks, the AD0503’s Bluetooth connection was always steady and never got dropped on any of the devices I paired it with.
SOUND QUALITY
The AD0503 features aptX technology which claims to provide CD-like quality over wireless audio. I’m no audiophile so I’m not really an expert when it comes to sound quality. However, as a regular user, I can say that the sound quality on the AD0503 was very good especially for a wireless earphone.
I tried it with different devices listening to mp3s and HD audiophile & stereo sound tests on YouTube. Although you can never expect the same quality with wired earphones/headphones, I did some comparison (for the sake of testing) against the Apple EarPods and the Sony MDR-ZX100. The sound quality on the AD0503 contains enough details and is able to deliver most of the treble and bass allowing you to enjoy the audio experience.
Another thing that the AD0503 provides is great isolation. It isolates noise/sound very well and is ideal for keeping out distractions while listening to your media indoors. However, it can be dangerous for outdoor use since heavy isolation can prevent you from hearing what’s happening around you. If you decide to use it outdoors, make sure that you are in a safe area or that you don’t use it while crossing/walking down busy streets.
BATTERY LIFE
The AD0503 is powered by a 120 mAh polymer lithium battery which has a listed capacity of up to 5 hours of continuous use and 250 hours of standby mode. It can be charged via the microUSB port on the side of the control buttons (see photo above).
I don’t really use earphones or headphones that often or for long periods of time so the AD0503’s battery life is pretty good for my type of usage. I only had to charge it once a week. Charging time is listed at 2 hours but based on my experience, it only takes a little over an hour.
CONCLUSION
With an affordable price and overall good sound quality, the Musicanywhere AD0503 is one of the best options if you’re looking for a wireless earphone. It is an ideal companion for daily commutes, travels, and workouts.

Hi Jaypee, I was wondering how the earphone would hold up during runs. I run quite a lot and the 5hours batt life is enough for a full marathon. Would the earphone be okay with excessively sweaty people? :)
Hi En! I haven’t tried it for outdoor running but have tried it while running on the treadmill. Based on my experience, the AD0503 held up fine during my 45 minute runs.
