Compared to the Mini which is designed to be compact and portable, the Giant+ with its 12000mAh capacity is designed to simultaneously provide huge amounts of power to multiple devices like smartphones, tablets, mp3 players, and portable gaming devices.

Like its small brother, the Jackery Giant+ features a polished and metallic aluminum finish that gives it has an elegant and stylish look but doesn’t make it slippery to grip or hold. I usually like the color black when it comes to gadgets but for this review, I received the Orange model. After having it with me for over a week, I’ve started to like the color and it actually looks very nice especially its metallic finish.
As listed above, the Jackery Giant+ features two USB ports – a 5V 1A port and a 5V 2.1 A port, allowing users to charge two devices simultaneously. The 2.1A port is ideal for charging iPads and other tablets.
The LED indicators help determine the battery level of the Jackery Giant+. 3 LEDs ON mean that the battery level is at 66%-100%, 2 LEDs ON mean battery level is at 33%-66%, 1 LED ON means battery is at 10%-33% and 1 LED blinking means battery level is below 10%. One extra feature that I like about this product is the LED flashlight which can be very useful in cases of emergency. It can be activated by pressing the power button two times. Pressing it again two times will turn it OFF. With a fully charged battery, the LED flashlight can stay ON for up to 800 hours. Btw, it takes about 10 hours to fully charge the Jackery Giant+ via an AC adapter.
The box includes the Jackery Giant+ External Battery, a micro USB charging cable, a User guide, a Warranty card and a Thank You card.
I’ve had the Jackery Giant+ for over a week now and have tested it thoroughly by using it to charge all devices we have at home – LG G3, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, HTC One, iPhone 6, iPad Mini and iPad 3. It has done its job perfectly without any issues. With a capacity of 12000mAh, the Giant+ can charge an iPhone 6 – 4.4 full charge cycles, Galaxy S6 – 3.2 full charge cycles and the iPad Air 2 – 1.1 full charge cycles.
When I go out for short trips and daily errands or routines, I bring along the Jackery Mini with me but whenever I would go out on long trips then I would bring them both or only the Giant+.
Even though the Giant+ is almost four times the size and heavier than the Jackery Mini, it is still portable enough to slip into the pockets of your pants, shirt, jacket, or bag/luggage compartments and bring along with you anywhere you go.
Like I mentioned in my review of the Mini, the only cons I could find about this product is that the package doesn’t include a carrying case/pouch and it doesn’t include a lightning cable for iOS devices or power brick for charging the unit.
The Jackery Giant+ is a must-have for people who do a lot of traveling and/or commuting or persons who carry around multiple devices. Especially those who rely on their smartphone/tablet for long periods of time and don’t have access to an outlet or external power source.
This device is also an ideal companion for hobbyists, extreme sports aficionados, and people who love the outdoors. The Jackery Giant+ is perfect for campouts, road trips, and long-distance flights because it allows you to power your mobile device to watch movies, listen to music, check emails, and stuff.
There are two Jackery Giant+ models – the original model that doesn’t support Quick Charge 2.0 which is available for $29.99 (Black, Gold, Orange & Silver) and the newer model which supports Quick Charge 2.0 which is available for $39.99 and comes in one color – Orange. Both are available for purchase on Amazon.com or via the official Jackery website. It comes with an 18-month warranty and is backed up by a 30-day money-back guarantee.
I love the Jackery Giant+ and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to my family and friends or even to you guys.
