Just by reading the title of this post, do you have any idea what it’s about? If not, then here’s a little explanation: Bill Gates = Microsoft = Internet Explorer. Got it? Bill Gates owns Microsoft, the company that which the infamous browser Internet Explorer comes from. Therefore the nickname, “Bill’s Browser”.
I came across this site a few days back after reading a post from CarloCab.com talking about making money from Adsense Firefox Referral program.
Kill Bill’s Browser is about encouraging people to switch from Internet Explorer to Mozilla’s Firefox. It lists reasons why people should switch to using Firefox. Here are some of it:
- Reduce your weekly family & friends tech support load to 8 hours.
You won’t miss hearing this:“I verified my credit card number since the computer said it had spyware, but now I can’t email…”
“Honey, I found a new business partner in Nigeria but I can’t email him our bank account info because the internet is broken…”
“The Secret Service called this morning and said that our computer sent 20,000 scatalogical emails to the President…”
- Because the Department of Justice Lacks Balls.
They spent years and years on the Microsoft anti-trust suit and it did absolutely nothing to reduce Microsoft’s monopoly. Great work guys. It’s time to take the law (erm, the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890?) into our own hands.
- Your computer won’t spend its free time telling the world about Viagra soft tabs.
Experts say 80% of spam comes from hacked PCs. Firefox has much better security, so your computer will get hacked less. Do it for the children, the children! (caveat: reducing Viagra spam may also reduce total number of children.)
- You’ll only see porn when you want to.
Sick of seeing pornographic pop-ups all over your computer while you’re helping your daughter with a research project? Since Firefox blocks pop-ups, you won’t get tons of porn in your face when you’re least expecting it. On the flip side, since Firefox stops spyware from taking over your computer, there will be nothing to slow you down when you go and look for porn.
and last but not least,
I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned this here but I’ll say it again. I’ve been an avid user and fan of the Mozilla Firefox browser for quite a while now. It makes browsing and other computing activities easy and convenient for me with all the extensions/add-ons that it has.
Btw, if you’re still using Internet Explorer I strongly recommend you to
.

@deuts – You mean banks in the Philippines right? Coz I have no problems accessing US bank websites, most of them that is. :)
Now, I use IE only when doing online banking. These banks seem to know IE only. I actually pity them…. hehe
@Amanda – Hehe..you think so huh? :D
> Because the Department of Justice Lacks Balls
That’s true. :cool:
@Joni – Btw, did you know that you can also install Firefox in your USB flash drive like the way you did with Gaim? Just sharing. :D
@sasha – Now that’s a true friend! You’re lucky to have a friend like that. Hehe :)
Unfortunately, not all sites display well on Firefox because it’s optimized for IE and doesn’t comply to web standards.
@baddie – That’s how long you haven’t used IE huh? :D
I think I already forgot what IE looks like. LOLZ
I got to know firefox because one theme I used for my other site won’t work properly with IE. A friend told me na ang ganda raw ng site ko when I can’t see anything remarkable in it. Yun pala, using ff, ang ganda nga. Kaya I downloaded it. And from then on, I hardly ever use IE na. FF is secure, faster than IE and yes, no pornographic pop-ups and viagra ads! :)
Go Firefox!! lol
@Yoru – I’m not sure if it’s “allowed” under Adsense policies but it’s said to be an effective way of generating income from Firefox referrals.
Nevertheless, I didn’t use it in my blog because I’m thinking that instead of attracting readers and visitors, it would drive them away.
@ade – I know..Hahaha :D
Winner.
I tried that a year ago because my site looked horrible in IE. I even opted for option 3, which totally bans IE users from browsing my site. My only problem was more than 50% of my visitors use IE. ;^^ I’m also unsure if promoting Firefox thru adsense is any way legal in Google’s terms.
@Rina – Yup, most of it is true. You should try Firefox so you can see the difference. :)
@Dre – I also tried Opera before and I have to admit that Opera is faster than both IE and Firefox. If Opera has the same addons/extensions that Firefox has, I might just switch.
I’ve been using FF for a very long time now. I’ve tried Opera, too, but Mozilla Firefox is the best ;)
is that true? i haven’t try that eh.. :D
@dimaks – Sharp as a double-edged sword!
I’ve been using Firefox for about 6 years now. Started using it when it was still called Phoenix or Mozilla Firebird.
haha, very sharp blade of the sword
ive been a fox user since many years ago :D
