About the same time last year, I posted the winners of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Pinoy Blogs of 2008 writing project. Last weekend, August 8th was the eyeball event and awarding ceremony for this year’s Top 10 Emerging Influential Pinoy Blogs held at the Forum Hall of the Casino Filipino in Parañaque City, Philippines.
Even though I knew most of the participants/nominees last year, this year is different from last year because several nominees are close to my heart. First is Patay Gutom, a Pinoy food blog created by Jehzeel Laurente and of which I am one of the “contributors”. Next is a group of bloggers who belong to the Jedi Bloggers (which I am “officially” a part of) – Jan Geronimo of Writing to Exhale, Doc Z of Zorlone, and Kelvin Servigon of Kelvinonian Ideas 2.0.

I was preoccupied the whole weekend that I totally forgot about the event and forgot to check who the winners are. It was just today that I remembered it and I was very happy to find out that the top two winners are both my friends Writing To Exhale and Patay Gutom. Congratulations to you guys and also to the rest of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Pinoy Blogs of 2009.
I wish I was able to attend the event and meet my blogging friends and the other Pinoy bloggers. I envy you guys! I’m sure you all had a great time. I’d also like to extend my congratulations to Ms Janette Toral and the rest of the organizers for the success of this event.

@Jhay – True, no awards or recognitions of this kind especially for Philippine blogs, only for websites. Blogs weren’t that popular yet. Hehe. This talk kinda makes me feel old in blogging years. :D
