Hello World! I’m back “again”. Hehe. I already said this many times before and I don’t know how many more times I would say it. These past few days, I’ve been busy rebuilding my blog from scratch. This time, I lost 4 posts that I consider to be very important, 2 of which have “sentimental value” to me. Those were the posts entitled “My Gravatar” & “Goodbye Charlie”.
I had a WP backup plugin configured to make email me a backup every day but what I didn’t know was the last backup made was June 2nd and the last entry backed up was my In-N-Out post dated March 20th.
Yup, I’m back again and I hope that it would be for good this time. I recently purchased a domain name and will use it in a few days. I also thought of getting myself paid hosting but I couldn’t afford it yet. So for now, I’ll keep my free hosting with Asmallpanda.com. My first free web host, IGB.net (formerly known as Iconrate.net) is planning on restoring its free hosting services so I might take a look at it and see if that would work out too.
During the time my blog was offline, I had so many topics to blog and talk about. The World Cup was one of them. I wanted to post an entry for each game played and also have special entries like a spotlight for a specific player from one team and other football trivia. I also wanted to post about the NBA Finals and my thoughts about the series.
I’m disappointed with myself because I should have known better and learned from previous experiences that I should create backups after I make a post or have new comments or do any updates/customization to my blog. It’s no use crying over spilled milk, right? So now, I’m just thankful that I had a backup and that I still have the chance to continue blogging. I’ll just have to be more careful and have to take the necessary measures to make sure that it won’t happen again.
If you’ve seen my blog up and running a few days ago and wondered why I didn’t make new entries, that reason for that is because I was hoping that I could recover the lost data and get a copy of the backups from the owner of the hosting service. But unfortunately, they couldn’t provide me with any backups and I couldn’t contact the person who has access to the previous database. I guess I’d have to continue on. “Life goes On,” they say.
Lastly, I’m still working on my new theme. I still have to enable the Gravatars in the comments and add the number of views for each post. So for now, please bear with me and I hope that you guys won’t get tired of visiting my blog, reading, and commenting on posts.
Btw, before I forget, Happy 4th of July to those of you who are here in the US. I didn’t go out with friends or have a barbecue like most people here do. I just stayed home. I’m not sure if I can go out and see fireworks later tonight.

@jhay – maraming salamat! yup, meron na akong bagong domain pero hindi pa gumagana. hopefully within this week. mapait talaga pag nawala ang mga data mo tapos wala kang backup or kung meron man pero palpak naman. i'll post something about the World Cup later.

Dapat talaga mag backup ng blog, kahit ako may mga mapapait na karanasan sa ganyan. Nung lumipat nga ako, tindi ng mga naging problema ko, pero ok naman, madami ako natutunan. hehe
