WordPress 4.5 Beta 2

Exactly one week ago, the WordPress dev team released WordPress 4.5 Beta 1 and earlier today, they have released the next beta version – WordPress 4.5 Beta 2.

Some of the bug fixes included in Beta 2:

  • Added Horizontal Rule (HR) editing shortcut and dismissible “Paste as Text” notice in TinyMCE.
  • Selective Refresh support is enabled for core themes titles and taglines, which allows shift-click to focus on controls and PHP filters to apply in the preview.
  • Resolved a fatal error on image upload when ImageMagick could not complete stripping meta during resize.

Aside from the ones listed above, Beta 2 includes various bug fixes and the dev team has also made more than 100 different changes from the Beta 1 version.

As always, these beta version of the WordPress software is still in development and intended for test purposes only. If you want to try it out, make sure that you already have a sandbox (test site) where you can install it. To install, you can try/use the WordPress Beta Tester plugin or download the WordPress 4.5 Beta 2 zip file.

For those who are trying and testing WordPress 4.5 Beta 2, if you think that you have discovered a bug, please submit your findings by posting it on the Alpha/Beta area in the WordPress support forums.
