WordPress Logos and Graphics

WordPress Logo

Previously, when you needed a WordPress logo to display on a blog or publication, the only ones available were the unofficial ones created and submitted by users like the ones over at WordPress.com, these glossy WordPress logos created by AODdesign, the vector WordPress icons by Snap2Objects and many others.

Good news for WordPress fans and users because now, when you need the WordPress logo or graphic you can get the official ones directly from the WordPress site itself. WordPress have made their official logos, buttons and desktop wallpapers available to the public.

Teddy Hwang, a site designer was having a bad week. His creative juices wasn’t flowing and it was affecting his work. So in his frustration with work, he spent his time on something else. He ended up modding the Wordpress Admin Dashboard to look like Digg.

Before you ask where you can get it or download it from, I’m sorry to say that this is not available to the public. The author, Teddy Hwang created this for personal use and at the moment, won’t release this to the public because he believes that it is a blatant violation of Digg’s trademarks and also as way of respecting the designers of Digg.

But things can still change. If someone from Digg, like say Kevin Rose gives a go signal and allows it, most likely Teddy will make it available to the public as a Wordpress plugin, right Teddy? Hehe

For more info and larger screenshots, visit Teddy Hwang’s blog.

Btw, if you’re interested in having something like this for your Wordpress Dashboard, there are a couple plugins that works exactly like this. I’ll be talking about them in future posts. So stay tuned!

    Thanks for the post Jaypee.

Hopefully digg will let me release the theme. If you liked the digg version, you might want to check out the Apple one I made (just a concept done on Photoshop). All this really begs the question, when will WordPress update the UI for their admin panel? It’s clear that many people want a change.

@Teddy - You’re welcome! You deserve some type of recognition for the great job you did. Unfortunately, we all have to wait and see what happens if Digg allows you to distribute it.

The Apple version is also cool, but I like the Digg version better!

I totally agree! Wordpress should definitely do something about the Admin panel UI. Hopefully it will be done in the next major release.

    Thanks for dropping by! :)

I certainly hope Digg approves of releasing the design. It’s awesome.

I’m sure we’re not the only ones hoping for it’s release. :D
