There are many award giving bodies for the best websites, best blogs and best cms like the Weblog Awards, the Webby Awards or Open Source Awards but from what I know there are no specific awards given within the WordPress community to honor the best of the WordPress community. Well, not until now that is. Enter the 2010 WordPress Honors, a brain child of Jared Williams that aims to promote WordPress and to honor the people who have contributed to the WordPress community.
WPHonors is a site based on the same idea as the Oscars® or the Hip Hop Honors Awards but for WordPress®! Anyone, yes even you, can register on this site, and post nominees for the different areas you see showcased on the site. Registered users are also able to vote on each of the nominations, so be sure to get your friends to sign up and vote for you or any submitted posts you may have nominated.
