The AT&T Tilt or HTC TyTN II that I got about four months ago is my first ever Windows Mobile powered phone or pocket pc phone. Its also the first time I owned and tried a phone made by HTC. Earlier this month I came across this article from Modaco about an upcoming phone from HTC called the HTC Touch HD.

The HTC Touch HD is definitely geared as a competitor to the iPhone, Samsung Omnia and the also upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. According to reports, the HTC Touch HD will first be introduced in Europe by the last quarter of this year. There’s no word when this phone will be available here in the United States but rumors have it that AT&T will have it first.

For now, there is no information on the exact launch date or how much the HTC Touch HD would cost but if its primed as an iPhone killer/competitor then expect it to be in the same price range as the iPhone. I haven’t been this excited about a new phone like I was when I first heard about the iPhone. I hope my account with AT&T would be eligible for a phone upgrade when this baby comes out.
