• Weekend is almost over and still no word about the release of WordPress 2.7. Anyways, that shouldn’t stop you from getting ready for it, right? Here’s a list of 10 WordPress plugins that will help you test drive the new features the upcoming version on your blog.
• WPZoom has compiled a list of WordPress Rockstars, people who have contributed a lot to the WordPress community. Great list!

Gadgets

• Good news for Nokia fans here in the US. The Nokia N85 will start shipping this coming week and will cost you around $556.
• Unwired reports that Motorola will be cancelling the RAZR/Ruby line of phones. Reports also say that they’ll be ditching the Symbian UIQ for the Android. So I guess it’s both good news and bad news, right?
• Trying to catch up with Asus, MSI recently released the MSI Wind Box. This tiny black computer attaches to a VESA-mountable monitor and converts it into a all-in-one computer.
• Looking for a nice Christmas gift for your kid? Check out this Wall-E laptop designed for kids. I believe this would also be a nice collector’s item.

Technology

• The guys of Dev Team have successfully ported Linux to the iPod Touch and the iPhone. Future plans include porting Google Android. via Engadget.
• Michael Arrington of TechCrunch talks about the 3 reasons why netbooks aren’t good enough.
• Here in the US, people change their computers every 3 years on average. With all the thousands of computers being disposed do you ever wonder where do all those used computers go?
• Black Friday Tragedy: Wal-Mart employee dies from stampede – A Long Island Wal-Mart employee died when people came rushing in for Black Friday sale.

Pinoy Blogs

• Arpee Lazaro talks about his recent “experience” during a product launch and how he was “treated” by one of the event organizers. PR agencies in the Philippines should learn from this experience. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. via TechAtHand
• Marhgil Macuha shares his review of the Nokia N78. Haven’t seen this in person but it sure looks like a pretty nice phone to me.
• Jehzeel Laurente explains the meaning of the word “nyok”, which is gaining popularity in Plurk and the Pinoy Blogosphere. Nyok!
• Wii rip-off? CD-R King, a popular media store in the Philippines has released a game console called the TV Sports Game. via Atma Xplorer

An office manager at Wal-Mart was given the task of hiring an individual to fill a job opening. After sorting through a stack of resumes he found four people who were equally qualified. An American, a Russian, an Australian and a Filipino. He decided to call the four in and ask them only one question. Their answer would determine which of them would get the job.

The day came and as the four sat around the conference room table the interviewer asked, “What is the fastest thing you know of?”

Acknowledging Dave, the American on his right, the man replied, “A THOUGHT”.

It just pops into your head. There’s no warning that it’s on the way; it’s just there. A thought is the fastest thing I know of.”

“That’s very good!” replied the interviewer.

“And now you sir?” he asked Vladimir, the Russian.

“Hmm…. let me see. A blink! It comes and goes and you don’t know that it ever happened. “A BLINK” is the fastest thing I know of.”

“Excellent!” said the interviewer. “The blink of an eye,that’s a very popular cliche for speed.”

He then turned to George, the Australian who was contemplating his reply. “Well, out at my dad’s ranch, you step out of the house and on the wall there’s a light switch. When you flip that switch, way out across the pasture the light in the barn comes on. Yep, “TURNING ON A LIGHT” is the fastest thing I can think of.”

The interviewer was very impressed with the third answer and thought he had found his man. “It’s hard to beat the speed of light” he said.

Turning to Eleuterio, the Filipino, the fourth and final man, the interviewer posed the same question. Eleuterio replied, “Apter herring da 3 frevyos ansers sirrr, et’s obyus to me dat the fastest thang known is “DIARRHEA”.”

“WHAT!?” said the interviewer, stunned by the response.

“O I can expleyn serrr .” said Eleuterio. ” YOU SEE SERR, DA other day I wasn’t peeeling so good and I run soo fast to the CR or bathroom, But, before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, ay ‘tang ina, I already had a big tae, ka-ka or poo-poo in my pants.

Eleuterio is now the new “Greeter” at Wal-Mart.
