I remember me and a couple of my friends in the same program also had to take a class in Assembly language together with the Computer Engineering students. Boy, was that an ordeal! We were just glad to be able to pass that subject. Hehe

For me the most interesting computer language to learn is PHP but unfortunately, we only had a short period of time to learn it. Anyways, talking about computer languages or programming languages, let us go back down memory lane with an infographic created by the folks of Rackspace about the Evolution of Computer Languages. There are hundreds of computer languages or programming languages but this infographic features the ones that are the most popular and widely.

From the Rackspace blog:

All the cloud applications you use on the Internet today are written in a specific computer language. What you see as a nice icon on the front end looks like a bunch of code on the back end. It’s interesting to see where computer languages started and how they have evolved over time. There are now a series of computer languages to choose from and billions lines of code. Check out the infographic below to see the computer language timeline and read some fun facts about code along the way.

Evolution of Computer Languages Infographic<br

Which computer language or programming language do you like or hate the most? Please share your thoughts.

[via <a

It’s the first time for me to read or hear about it. So I did some research and this is what I found out about tumbleblogs.

What’s a tumblelog?

A tumblelog is a variation of a blog, that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author’s creations, discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary. – Wikipedia

To make it simple, blogs are journals and tumbleblogs can be considered as scrapbooks. It means that tumbleblogs is an easier, faster and fun way of blogging. Tumbleblogs has six types of posts; you have the traditional blog post, a photo post, a quote post, link, a conversation post (IM chats) and video post.

Currently, there are two ways to publish a tumbleblog. One is through the use of Ozimodo, which is a Ruby on Rails powered tumblelog engine and the other one is Tumblr, a site that lets you create tumbleblogs for free.

My Take:

Tumbleblogs could be the next hottest thing in blogging. Tumbleblogs, lets you post and share interesting stuff on your blog requiring less time and effort. Tumbleblogs are ideal for people who don’t have much time to maintain a traditional blog or for those who can’t come up with lengthy blog posts.

If you want to see how a tumbleblog looks like, you can visit one of the more popular tumbleblogs online – tumbléo. This tumbleblog is owned by Leo Laporte, you may know him from TechTV, where he was one of the hosts together with Friendster. Trig is powered by Ruby on Rails which means that you’ll see a lot of visual effects that use AJAX.

When you sign up, you get to choose what type of profile to create. If you’re an ordinary user, you can create a People profile and if you’re a recording artist or group you can create a Music profile. Profile customization is not yet available but for now, there are 12 skins that you can choose from. You can post a biography, start your own blog, upload photos and display them in your gallery and add tags (kinda like Technorati tags) to make searching things easy for you and other users. You can add tags to your blog, photos and videos.

You can also browse for user shoutouts, music, newly uploaded songs and images, newly posted blogs and tags. One cool feature that I like is the Timeline Content Browser. It lets you search and view the most popular blogs, images, songs and profiles in Trig during a time range that you specify. It’s cool coz you like get to see what stuff was popular 3 months ago in Trig.

I already signed up and inspite that it’s still in it’s Beta phase I like what I see. I believe it has what it takes to take on Myspace. I can’t wait til the guys from Trig are all done with it. If you’re already with Trig, add me up if you want: http://trig.com/jaypee

Checkout Trig or if you want to join, let me know and I’ll send you an invite.

Thanks to <a
