Hi folks! How are you all doing today? I know its a kinda late to publish this edition of the Weekend Roundup but I already had it ready since a couple days back so I’m just gonna publish it anyways. I haven’t been posted much updates the past few days because I’m having a bit of blogger’s block plus I wasn’t feeling well. I feel a bit better now so I’ll try to catch up and make up for lost time. Weekend Roundup #60

Wassup guys? How’s everyone doing? Hope you’re all doing fine. My apologies for the very late roundup. I was kinda busy last weekend and was too tired to finish the draft and publish this edition of the Weekend Roundup. Played a couple of basketball games last Saturday night and went home past 11 PM. I was dead tired and spent the following day resting and sleeping. Btw, don’t worry coz I’ll be updating the blog with some new posts by today and will be replying to all your comments and contest entries.

For this edition of the Weekend Roundup, I’ve decided to add a new topic under WordPress. I did this because I didn’t want to put WordPress related news under Blogging because not all bloggers use WordPress and there are times when I already have filled up the Blogging topic and I still have some WordPress related news to share with you guys. Anyways, I hope that you guys like it and if you do, I’ll make it a permanent part of the Weekend Roundup.

What is Google Wave?

Early this year, the Google I/O Developer Conference was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. During day 2 of the event, Google surprised everybody by presenting a new product for real-time communication and collaboration called Google Wave.

What is Google Wave?

Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

What is a wave?

A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.

Here’s the video of the Google Wave Developer Preview demonstration that was presented during the Day 2 Keynote of Google I/O.

Pretty amazing stuff don’t you say? When I first saw this video, I was really amazed and it got me very excited to try it out. I just couldn’t wait until they make Google Wave available to the public. I also can’t wait to see the extensions and applications built by developers that can expand and add to Google Wave’s functionalities and capabilities. If all works well, Google Wave would be available by September of this year.
