src="http://maxcdn.jaypeeonline.net/images/goals.png" alt="Blog Goals for 2009" />

This will be the first time for me to do something like this for my blog. I’m not doing this because I’m just following what other bloggers are doing but rather, I’m doing this so I will have something to motivate me to do my best, improve on my strengths and work on the weaknesses to further improve JaypeeOnline. Since this is my first blog goals post, I don’t have anything to compare it to so I’m setting these goals based on the current statistics and set some “ideal” goals for me and my blog.

1. Reach at least 500 RSS subscribers (currently at 300+).
2. Increase the average daily blog traffic (pageviews and unique visitors).
3. Increase the monthly earnings on Adsense and other affiliate networks.
4. Increase the posting frequency to 6 or 7 weekly posts.
5. Get the blog’s Google PageRank back to 4 (currently at PR 2).
6. Get back within Alexa’s top 100,000.
7. Have guest bloggers write for JaypeeOnline.
8. Improve the community around JaypeeOnline.
9. Continue the Weekend Roundup feature.
10. Host a group writing project (You can share any good topic that you have in mind).
11. Release a free WordPress theme.
12. Have more blog contests/giveaway.
13, Attend a WordPress WordCamp or a Blog World Expo.
14. Attend the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards (more of a wish).

Even though a few of the goals are a little difficult or a bit too high for me, I believe that if I do my best and with your help, I would be able to accomplish all or most of these goals by the end of this year. If you haven’t subscribed to JaypeeOnline’s RSS feed yet, you can help me accomplish my first goal sooner by subscribing via RSS reader or receive RSS updates via email.

How about you? Have you also set up any blog goals or maybe personal goals for 2009? Care to share it with us? Maybe we can help each other accomplish our goals.
<div

I forgot where I first read about it but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to know or learn more about it. Finally, when I got back online, I was able to read some reviews and posts about Entrecard. I liked the idea and it caught my interest so I decided to sign up like two weeks ago.

For the benefit of those who don’t know what Entrecard is, here’s a little info about this new social blog network:

Entrecard is a social network of bloggers that is based on the concept of community, sharing and helping out each other. Entrecard is the brainchild of 22-year old Internet Entrepreneur Graham Langdon. It was launched November of 2007 during the Blog World Expo. Entrecards are 125×125 cards or banners that blogger’s digital business cards which they use for networking and promoting themselves in the community.

It took me more than a week before I found time to install the code and display Entrecard into my sidebar. If you can see, it’s located in the left sidebar of the index page under the name “Featured Blog“. After installing it, I started familiarizing myself with Entrecard’s dashboard and figured out how the stuff works. I also spent some time visiting blogs with Entrecards and dropping my cards so I could earn points. A few minutes later, I received my dropped card and advertisement offer. I also edited my Entrecard photo to make it look more presentable. I’m having fun visiting other blogs and dropping off my card. Entrecard is a cool way of networking and promoting your blog.

If you’re a Pinoy blogger who has Entrecard and would like to network with other Pinoy bloggers, check out PinoyBlogero’s list of Pinoy blogs in Entrecard.

Have you signed up with Entrecard? How do you like it so far? What are the things you like or dislike about it? Please share your comments and thoughts. We’d love to hear them.

Blog World Expo started today, November 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I really wanted to attend it but unfortunately the schedule and time didn’t permit so I guess I’ll have to wait until the next Blog World Expo and hopefully there will be another one next year. Anyways, for those who don’t know or haven’t heard about the Blog World Expo, here’s a little info:

The first and only industry-wide tradeshow, conference, and media event dedicated to promoting the dynamic industry of blogging and new media. In addition to the only industry-wide exhibition, BlogWorld will feature the largest blogging conference in the world including more than 50 seminars, panel discussions and keynotes from iconic personalities on the leading-edge of online technology and internet-savvy business.

Blog World Expo will have the following keynote speakers:

Larry Benet

Matt Mullenweg

Richard Jalichandra

Roger L Simon

Jeremy Wright

Leo Laporte

Mark Cuban

Aside from the keynote speakers, there will be 100 other speakers who will talk about certain topics. Here are a few of them:

CORPORATE BLOGGING: Debbie Weil

TECHNOLOGY: Mike Arrington

MONETIZATION: Henry Copeland

SPORTS: Will Leitch

JOURNALISM: Dr. David Perlmutter

POP CULTURE: Eric Olsen

BUSINESS: Shel Israel

I’m really disappointed that I couldn’t attend the Blog World Expo. There will be trade shows and conferences. It’s a very good opportunity to learn more about blogging, meet other bloggers and you might even get to meet your favorite bloggers like Shoemoney, John Chow, Matt Mullenweg, making new contacts which also gives you the chance of promoting your blog offline. Another thing that I like about expos are the exhibits and for sure there would be many exhibits in the Blog World Expo. Aside from that there are other fun events and activities like free movie screening and even a pajama party! And of course, there will be lots of free food and beverages.

If you want to know more about the schedules and other stuff going on at the Blog World Expo, check out the conference schedule.

Anyone attending the Blog World Expo right now? Or are you like who’s wishing you were there in too? Hope the event will be successful. All the best to the organizers, speakers and everyone else involved in the Blog World Expo.
<div
