Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend, especially all the mother’s who celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday. Welcome to the 128th edition of the Weekend Roundup. My apologies for it being published late. Spent the whole day yesterday with the family celebrating Mother’s Day. Weekend Roundup #55

Hello everyone! Pardon the very late release of this week’s edition of the Weekend Roundup. If you’ve been visiting/following the blog the past few days, you know that I was migrating my blog to a new webhost. I did that last weekend but encountered some mod/rewrite rule issues so I decided to go back to my previous hosting provider. So in a span of 3 days I migrated my blog to different webhosts, twice. Because of that, I wasn’t able to publish this edition of the Weekend Roundup on time. I had to wait until the DNS propagation was in full effect before posting any articles/updates so that everyone would be able to access them. Hope you guys like this week’s roundup.

Weekend Roundup #48

Hello everyone! Hope you guys had a good weekend. Its time again for another roundup of links and articles from around the web. Was planning on publishing this last night, Saturday but I had to play a game in a basketball tournament scheduled at 9:30 PM which started at around 10:00 PM and ended at around 11:30 PM. Then I had another game this Sunday morning at 9:00 AM so when I got home I was dead tired. Good thing I was able to get a couple hours sleep and was able to finish and publish this post today. Xinu: Pagerank, Alexa, Technorati and More

Here’s one tool that I’m sure any webmaster or blogger would definitely love. It’s called Xinu.

What is Xinu? It’s a tool that lets you check your website or blog’s PageRank, Alexa rank, backlinks, Technorati rank, feed subscribers, domain validation/diagnostics and many more. Btw, if you haven’t noticed the name comes from Unix spelled backwards.

Xinu also lets you save the results in a PDF file through it’s reporting tool. Xinu has been tested on the following browsers: IE7, Firefox 2, Opera 9.x and Netscape 9.

Xinu lets you check the following site/blog elements:

Diagnosis
Domain
Ranking
Syndication
Social Bookmarks
Validation
Indexed Pages
Backlinks

You can check just one or all of the elements above. It’s totally up to you.

I love Xinu! Now, I don’t have to go to different pages to check certain ranks and stats. I also like the Diagnosis element which helps you fix site details like domain name, title, keywords, description and more. It gives comments and recommendations on what you can do to improve it.

Although there’s one thing that I think Xinu should improve and thats the accuracy of the screenshot. When I checked JaypeeOnline, the screenshot showed the Kill Bill’s Browser post that I published on June 13. It would be nice if Xinu uses the most recent screenshot. Overall, it’s still a very cool tool!
