On January 21 9 pm ET (January 22, Sunday 10 am Manila time), boxing fans all over the world will be treated to a world class match involving two of the best super featherweights to enter the ring, Erik “El Terrible” Morales and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao who will fight for the WBC International super featherweight title.
This is a sequel of their March 19, 2005 match wherein Morales beat Pacquiao by only 2 points, 115-113 based on the scorecards. Morales who hails from Tijuana, Mexico boasts a record of 48-3, 34 KOs. While Pacquiao who comes from General Santos City, Philippines has a record of 40-3-2, 31 KOs. Morales is ranked as the No.1 super featherweight by the WBC, while Pacquiao comes in at No. 2. So what we have here are the two best sluggers in their weight category.
What the boxing experts has to say about Morales vs. Pacquiao 2.
“This is what boxing is all about - two great champions who always give it their all, each and every second in the ring,” - Bob Arum of Top Rank.
“It’s great to kick off 2006 with a fight as exciting as the rematch between Erik Morales and Manny Pacquiao,” “January 21 figures to be an action-filled, quality night for pay-per-view boxing fans. - Mark Taffet, HBO Senior Vice President of Sports Operators and Pay-Per-View. “
What they had to say about each other for the coming match.

I don’t think he’s going to learn how to do it any better than from the first time. His problem is not going forward because he is good coming forward. But his problem is going backward and that is what I will do, back up Pacquiao all night long.
- Erik Morales

Outside of the ring, I respect Morales very much. But once inside the ring, I don’t respect him. I will control him with my jab this time around. On January 21, you will see the real Manny Pacquiao.
- Manny Pacquiao
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is saying that his fighter wasn’t able to box during the previous fight because of the kind of gloves that they were required to wear. For this coming match, Pacquiao will be using the Reyes brand which is considered as a puncher’s gloves.
Expect to see a slugfest as each fighter has something to prove. Morales who wants to prove that his previous win was not a fluke and Pacquiao will be giving it all that he has to prove to that he is the better fighter. We just hope that nobody get’s cut like what happened last time.
Tickets for this bout are priced at $500, $300, $200, $100 and $50.

yeah, me too. i believe that Pac Man would do better this time. he’s the type of boxer who trains very hard and trains harder when he gets beaten or when he has something to prove. 10 more days to go!

Can’t wait to see this one
… the funny thing is I’m not much of a boxing fan till I watched PacMan Vs. Morales. More because of Nationalistic pride than of enjoying watching 2 guys beat the crap out of each other… hehehe
