The Nintendo Wii (pronounced as “we”) is the most recent game console from Nintendo. It was first released in North America in December of 2006 and since then have sold 2,745,980+ units as of May 5, 2007. The Nintendo Wii is not your usual game console as it uses a wireless remote that connects to the console via bluetooth as a controller to play games. It also targets a wider demographic compared to other game consoles because it doesn’t only cater to hardcore gamers but is also appealing to people of all ages and preference.

I think most gamers and even the people at Nintendo didn’t expect the Wii to be this successful. Many gamers and enthusiasts were more excited about the release of the Playstation 3. Gamers were not the only ones who bought the Wii. People of all sizes and shapes went and got a Wii. Kids, parents, grandparents, friends all enjoy playing the Wii. I don’t own a Wii yet, but I do plan to get one for myself soon.
