WordCamp Philippines

If you’re a Pinoy blogger or a WordPress user/fan then most likely you’ve heard or read of this already. But in case you haven’t, I have good news for you. There will be a WordCamp held in the Philippines this coming September 6, 2008. If you don’t know what I’m talking about here’s a little info.

What is WordCamp?

WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people. WordCamp is a spin off from the popular BarCamp which was a spin off of FooCamp. - Weblog Tools Collection

WordCamp Philippines will be the first ever WordCamp organized and held in Asia. WordCamp Philippines is being organized by a group of Filipino bloggers based in Mindanao who were also responsible for organizing the successful 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit held last year.

What are the objectives of WordCamp Philippines?

…to encourage more developers to use and deploy WordPress, not only as a blogging engine but also as a full-featured content management system for Web sites. Another is to increase the number of WordPress users and developers in the country. By developers, we mean programmers of WordPress plugins and designers of themes & templates.

In my previous posts, I featured free video editing software for Windows, Mac and Linux. I also came up with a list of free audio editing software. In the olden days, video and audio editing were only done exclusively by professionals with expensive and sophisticated equipment in their modern studios. As technology started to advance and stuff like computers went to a personal level, more people were able to do video and audio editing at home because it was now easy and convenient to do with the help of dvd software.

The introduction of mobile devices likes cellphones, PDAs, mp3 players video and audio editing became more of a common thing as users are now creating, editing and sharing videos and audio files with family, friends and even at work. With Movavi VideoSuite, you can easily convert your favorite DVDs and movies and save them to any mobile device like the iPod, Zune or PSP.

Launching of sites like YouTube also promoted the rise of homemade videos from cellphones and webcams. Now with Movavi VideoSuite, you can capture video straight from your webcam, edit it and create your personal music video. Movavi VideoSuite also saves video from your camcorder and lets you edit or preview the video right from the program.

Do you have a DVD collection? Use Movavi VideoSuite to rip your DVDs or make clones of your favorite DVD movies or even backup your entire collection. With the Movavi dvd software, you can also convert full length videos or single segments and have the finished product in almost any type of format. Movavi VideoSuite supports the following audio and video formats: FLV, AVI (DivX, XVid), DVD, VOB, IFO, MPEG, MPEG4 (iPod, PSP, MP4), 3GPP, 3GPP2, MOV, WMV, ASF, RM, MP3 and WAV.

You can also use Movavi VideoSuite to backup important personal documents and files because it can also burn data, audio and video files to a CD or DVD.

Note: Movavi VideoSuite does not allow you to copy, rip or convert copy-protected and encrypted CD/DVD.

Do more with your video with the Movavi VideoSuite dvd software.
