It’s not available in Philippines. when i tried to apply for paypal debit card, it says “Sorry, you’re not eligible for the PayPal Debit MasterCard®. This may be because you live outside the United States or you’ve already applied in the last 30 days.” My last option is to apply for a mastercard then pay it via paypal. hope that helps.. : )

I don’t see why you need a paypal debit card when you in fact need an acutal credit card to get one? I mean, coming from a country where credit cards are not popular the main reason why we apply for a paypal account is because credit card is not very much an option. Now, I mean debit card might be easier, but if I’m going to apply for a debit card and a credit card is required, why not just use a credit card directly right? Sorry I may not be a smart person but I just think it defeats the purpose of you getting a debit card because you can’t have a credit card.

I have spent some time today trying to apply for the PayPal Debit Card, without much luck.

The APPLY NOW button on PayPal’s “Get a Debit Card” website takes me into my PayPal account. In my account, there is no way to apply for the debit card. The debit card does not appear under “Product & Services” and is not mentioned anywhere at all.

I have a Premium PP account, and it is verified.

Some of the posts & comments I read chasing the Debit card suggest that the Debit card may not be available outside the US (this is Australia).

Well, is that so. That is fine with me as long as it is CLEARLY INDICATED on the card’s website with the “BUY NOW” button that the product is only available to people located in the US, as to not waste the rest of the world’s time.

Why would a professional organisation like PayPal have their international audience chase a product that does not exist outside of the US?

The Internet has been around for some time now, and PayPal hopefully knows that websites are read by an international audience, not just by a local American audience. So I don’t believe in the “only available to US citizens” theory.

Any other suggestions why I can’t apply for the card?
