Steam Holiday Sale

Steam Holiday Sale

To celebrate the holiday season, popular online gaming platform and video game distributor Steam is having a holiday sale. The sale started last week, December 20th and will run until January 2nd. For this holiday sale, Steam is offering huge discounts for more than 1,000 games, including popular games like Team Fortress 2, Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 etc. and the latest and biggest game titles like Assassins Creed 2, Civilization V, Fallout: New Vegas, Call of Duty: Black Ops, etc.

There are daily deals each day for individual games, game bundles and publisher catalogs. They also have game specials under $10 and $5. Yesterday, they had Civilization V for only $29.99 (retail price is $49.99). Today’s deals include:

  • Assassins Creed 2 – $14.99 (retail price $29.99)
  • F.E.A.R 2 Complete Pack – $9.99 (retail price $39.97)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – $29.99 (retail price $59.99)
  • Darksiders – $9.99 (retail price $39.99)
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light – $5.10 (retail price $14.99)
  • Wings of Prey – $5.99 (retail price $29.99)
  • Dead Rising 2 – $19.99 (retail price 39.99)

I don’t play video games that much these days but the huge discounts was so tempting I decided to purchase Torghlight, Civilization IV Complete Pack and Battlefield Bad Company 2 and the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion pack. I’m not sure if they’ve already offered a discount for Call of Duty: Black Ops, so they might have it on sale any day until January 2nd.

NOTE: You’ll need a Steam account to purchase, download and access these games. Some games may not be available in some countries. If you’re running Windows 7 64-bit, make sure to check from the Windows 7 Compatibility Center if the game you want to purchase is compatible with your system (especially with older games) and that your computer meets at least, the minimum requirements before purchasing it.

Check out the Steam website for more details.

  1. MMmm torchlight. The daily deal changes everyday so it’s
best to get what you want asap. Also, Black Ops was on sale for
    29.99 I think on the 26th
