Tried learning video editing using Windows Movie Maker. Got frustrated when in the middle of the movie there was no audio. Sigh….

Thanks for going to the work of compiling the list.

I checked out Virtual Edit and it is “crippleware” in the evaluation mode as noted:
“Virtual Edit Evaluation Version is free to download for evaluation. You can experiment with all of the features offered by the full version of Virtual Edit, but you will not be able to render advanced transitions, clip effects or titles into output files.”

@arlan – After I take videos on my DCR DVD 105, I just transfer it immediately to my pc and I don’t edit them. So I can’t really recommend a video editor. All I can suggest is that you read the information about these editors and see if you can find one that will work for you. If not then you’ll have to try these video editors individually until you find one that works for you.

Hi I saw your answer to Svetlana re: how to change a vob file to mpeg4. I tried that so I could import it into Moviemaker, because MovieMaker wouldn’t take the vob filr. But before I tried to import it I wanted to test it by playing it. It was amde to open with AVS Media Player. But it wouldn’t open in anything, AVS or Windows Media Player? How can I view it, what media player views mpeg4? vicki
