@bluepanjeet – You have more experience with audio editing than me. I rarely do any audio editing except when I cut mp3s or wav files and make the size smaller for my cellphone. Hehe :D

Agree with Ade, Audacity is one of the best audio recorder. I'm using the easy recording (when I use online karaoke recording hehe) available for Mac OS "Audio Recorder". It's a scriptable application that records audio from any default input device and saves it directly to an AIFF, Apple Lossless (M4A and MOV), MP3, MP4 (M4A and MOV), or WAV file. There are a lot to download from Mac actually.

I use nero wave editor and audacity. they are also great in editing and converting mp3s, wav and wma plus with audacity, you can actually record any podcast straight into your pc with the same clarity and quality of the original sound. the trick is, you have to moderate the decibel coming from the original source. then record it. I always record podcasts for my personal pleasure. :)
