If you already have the W3 Total Cache plugin and would like to enable this feature, just follow these simple steps:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of W3 Total Cache installed.
2. Get the Page Speed API Key from the Google APIs Console (Google account required).
3. Click on the Services tab.



4. Activate the Page Speed Online API.



5. Accept the Terms of Service.
6. Click on the API Access tab.



7. Copy the API key in the Simple API Access section.



8. On the W3 Total Cache plugin settings, go to General Settings > Miscellaneous.
9. Put a check on the “Enable Google Page Speed dashboard widget” option.
10. Enter the API key on the space provided and click on Save all settings.
    

11. Go to the WordPress dashboard and see your site results on the W3 Total Cache: Google Page Speed Report widget.

NOTE: This tutorial is meant for W3 Total Cache plugin users who want to enable the Google Page Speed Report on their WordPress dashboard. Although W3 Total Cache is a very useful plugin, it is a bit complicated to use and configure so it would not be practical to install it just for the sake of enabling the Google Page Speed Report.

Believe it or not, more and more employers are using social media to find talent. According to a survey by Jobvite, 80% of employers are using to support their recruitment efforts and the top 3 channels being used are LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Getting a job via social media is without doubt common as much as job seeking in online ads.

With its easy access, there will be more and more applicant flow in those channels. It will be more competitive. Now, the challenge is how to maximize your job search on social media to make sure you find all the possible jobs you are qualified in.

1. Search within social media

The magic word is “search”. But where to start? LinkedIn is an undisputed social media job search platform but other popular channels like Facebook and Twitter should never be left out of your search lists. LinkedIn’s Job section provides a list of jobs closely related to your LinkedIn profile which is based on your work history and connections.

In Facebook’s case, what you do is to search for company pages (you want to work with) and follow them. Some pages post vacancies on their wall or some have a dedicated jobs tab like one of TeleTech Pilipinas. If you are not aiming for a certain company and simply a job title, use the Facebook search function. Try searching for the keyword “jobs” on search and you’ll get useful links and pages.

For Twitter, simply follow a company or do the tweet search function. Some brands have a dedicated channel for recruitment but others integrate it to their main social media accounts.

2. Network with the recruiter

LinkedIn makes it easy for anyone to network with a hiring manager. If you already set up your profile with a profile picture, upload your email contacts. This is to start with a few set of networks in LinkedIn. See your immediate network if you can get introduced to a hiring manager. You can also search for a company and a position readily accessible in LinkedIn.

Also, join groups relevant to your industry and follow companies. They post career opportunities there as well.

3. Grow your online influence

Not all can be considered influencers – or the thought movers and conversational leaders – but everyone has influence. Most businesses operate online. Having a bigger network than your fellow applicants gives you a better chance. Why? It’s a skill. It’s not only the numbers. Apps like CareerBuilder, JobCompass, Monster, BusyBee and many more will help you find one customized and filtered to your needs. Also, utilize RSS or job alerts from your favorite job boards. You can’t miss an opportunity on the go.

5. Start a social resume

Get attention by showing off your creativity skills using video, infographics, or slideshow presentations as an alternative/additional resume and upload them to video/presentation-sharing websites like Youtube and Slideshare.

You can start a website or a blog. Design its format and design. Put content relevant to your job like blog posts, multimedia, about yourself, and integrate your social networks. Don’t forget to include a portfolio of your works and how they can contact you. Land a job by having your online profile easily shareable.

A zero day vulnerability has been recently found on TimThumb, a popular image resizing utility widely used in a lot of WordPress themes. This issue was first discovered and reported by Mark Maunder after his blog got hacked via the timthumb.php file/script.

The TimThumb zero day vulnerability allows malicious users, hackers and other third parties to upload and run PHP code in the timthumb cache directory. When the uploaded PHP code is run and executed, the attacker can do whatever they want with the affected site or blog.

If You Use TimThumb
If your current WordPress theme is using timthumb.php, make sure that you update to the latest version of TimThumb and to reglularly check on the official TimThumb site for updates and announcements.

Aside from updating the TimThumb file there’s another thing you need to do. Open up the timthumb.php or thumb.php file with a text editor and look for this line ALLOW_EXTERNAL and make sure that the value is set to FALSE.

Once ALLOW_EXTERNAL is set to FALSE, next thing to do is remove the domains inside the $allowedSites array to ensure that remote file downloading is disabled:

If You Do Not Use TimThumb
If you don’t use or need timthumb.php but have other WordPress themes stored in your wp-content/themes folder that uses timthumb.php, it is recommended that the timthumb.php or thumb.php file or even the entire theme or plugin folder be deleted/removed from your web server.

The theme I’m using here on JaypeeOnline – FreshNews by WooThemes uses TimThumb. After reading about this vulnerability, I immediately removed the thumb.php file and replaced it with an updated one. I was worried that I was using a very old version of TimThumb and that upgrading might mess up my blog but after the upgrade, I checked all the thumbnails and everything seems to be working fine. I also removed everything related to the old version of TimThumb and cleared the the cache.

How to fix the Adobe CS3 Internal Error 2739 on Windows 7 64-bit:
1. Click on the Windows logo and type in cmd on Search program and files. (Don’t hit Enter)

2. On the search results, right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as administrator“.

3. A command prompt will open and the default location will be C:\windows\system32.

4. Type in cd.. to get out of the System32 folder.

5. Type in cd SysWOW64 to go inside the SysWOW64* folder.

6. Type in regsvr32 jscript.dll and hit Enter.

7. Type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll and hit Enter.
