Switching Web Hosts – Expected Downtime

downtime

UPDATE:
Everything has been fully migrated into the new hosting provider including the DNS information. Just waiting for the new DNS nameservers to fully and completely propagate.

I’m currently in the process of switching web hosts so please expect some downtime and don’t be surprised if you’ll have difficulty accessing the site within the next 24-48 hours. I wasn’t really planning on leaving my current hosting provider until I experienced some issues and problems in the past few weeks. That, coupled with a few certain issues has contributed to my decision to find a new hosting provider.

I’ve been with Servint for almost 6 years now and although they have provided very good service and support, there are a few issues that made me finally decide to move to a managed WordPress hosting provider. I will discuss these in detail in a separate post once the migration process has been completed.

Comments are enabled but I request that you hold on to leaving a comment until I’ve verified that the site has completely been migrated to the new web host. This way, your comments won’t get lost and you wouldn’t waste your time trying to leave another comment.

The WordPress installation and all the necessary files have been transferred and all that’s left is to wait for the DNS (Domain Name System) to propagate. It usually takes between 24-48 hours depending on your location but hopefully, it won’t take longer than that. If you happen to be using OpenDNS then you’d probably experience much of downtime because OpenDNS update their records faster (minutes instead of hours).

I’d like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience that can be caused by this migration process (including any downtime related to this process). Please be assured that the site will be fully functional and will even be better and faster once we have moved to our new hosting provider.

Thank you for your continued support and have a nice day!
