Happy Father’s Day!

Every third Sunday of June, (which is today) people around the world are celebrating Father’s Day. This time, it’s different for me because it’s special. What makes this year’s Father’s Day special? Because it’s the first time I celebrate it as a father.

I’d also like to greet my dad and my father-in-law who are both very excellent examples of a good father. They’re both good role models and have been a great source of strength, wisdom, support and love to their wives, children and grandchildren.

Father’s Day also reminds me of my late grandfathers who were good patriarchs to their respective families. Incidently, they both have the same birthday, June 26th.

Here’s a poem I found on the Internet and I’d like to dedicate it to my dad, my father-in-law, my grandfathers and all the fathers around the world. Happy Father’s Day!

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail…
