Anyone heard of the upcoming movie Avatar? I just found out about this movie a few days ago after I saw the teaser trailer. I totally had no idea on what the movie is about before watching the trailer so when I saw it, I was amazed and blown away by the excellent animation and groundbreaking technology used to make the film.

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the teaser trailer below and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

The movie stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Sigourney Weaver as Dr. Grace Augustine and Michelle Rodriguez as Trudy Chacon. Avatar is written and directed by Oscar award winner filmmaker James Cameron, the same person who brought us Aliens, True Lies, The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Titanic. James Cameron has been developing the technology used to make this movie for the last 10 years and from what I’ve seen, I can say that it was worth the wait. Avatar the movie will be presented by 20th Century Fox and will be available in both IMAX and regular theaters worldwide on December 18th.

I’m stoked! I can’t wait to see this movie. This has got to be the most anticipate movie of the year and could easily be the best movie of the year.

Jaypee, I’m stoked as well. I cannot get over the great animation in the film. The Navi characters, and I can only assume the world they live in, is are some great computer generated images. They are so smooth that I am not thinking about the technology, but watching the action and panoramas. The whole film is going to be in 3D as well – let’s just hope that adds to the effect and doesn’t become distracting. Here’s to my hope that this is going to be a big, big success.
