If you were a kid from the 80’s, then most likely you would have spent some of your time watching the animated television series of Astro Boy. It was one of my favorite cartoon shows to watch back when I was a kid. Astro Boy is considered as the first Japanese “anime” television series.
Below is the official teaser trailer for the movie Astro Boy which will be coming in theaters on October 23rd of next year.
Here’s a little bit of information just in case you don’t know who Astro Boy is.
Official Plot Synopsis: Astro Boy was created by the “god of manga”, Japan’s Osamu Tezuka, in the early 1950s. The iconic character has since found wide popularity around the world as the hero of three acclaimed animated television series spanning over four decades, besides being one of the top licensed properties for merchandising. Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist. Our hero embarks on a journey in search of adventure in a netherworld of robot gladiators before he returns to save Metro City.
Can’t tell much from the short teaser trailer but it does seem to be a cool movie. Although I can’t really say if this movie is geared for adult or young audiences. I guess all we can do is just wait for the movie to come to find out.
