2007 Philippine Blog Awards

Now here’s something to look forward to:

2007 Philippine Blog Awards

A few hours ago, Abe announced the soft-launch of the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards over at Yugatech.com.

Aren’t you excited? I am. However, hold your horses because nominations won’t start until the 14th and would run until the 28th of this month. For now, you can write down and make a list of your favorite blogs. The official site of the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards is already up and running with it’s beautifully designed theme by Sheero Media and hosted by Ploghost.

The organizers of the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards are now calling for sponsors. Funds are needed for the plaques or trophies, other prizes and budget for a small awards party that will be held in honor of the winners of the awards. Like the recent Blog Parteeh, this is an event made possible by bloggers for bloggers.

  1. @benj – Haha..I don't think so. They'll probably cut it down to the top 5 or 10 nominees for each category. :D

    @dimaks – You're welcome! I know, even just for the Personal category I think there's about a hundred entries already! Hehe :D

  2. @dimaks – I’m not really sure but I think having a blog hosted by Blogger or WordPress.com doesn’t disqualify you. Having full ownership I think means that the blog is totally owned by the author and not by a company or corporation or part of a blog network. I hope I explained it well. Hehe :D

  3. i stumbled upon the Philippine blog awards site a while ago and I wondered about one thing. I saw people’s blogs listed/nominated that basically, to the my humble understanding, does not conform to the contests simple ruling that is;

    The awarding is open to all Filipino bloggers who have full ownership of their blogs. This implies that blogs belonging to blog networks or corporate blogs cannot be included because of ownership rights. The awards therefore pay homage to “grassroots bloggers” who have built up their blogs from their own efforts.

    i saw blogs there under wordpress and blogspot.

    Or maybe i am missing something?

  4. @dimaks – Oh okay. Now I know for sure what you guys are talking about. Hehe

    I think Abe is just very busy with work and other projects. He's a very busy man and in-demand not only online but offline as well. I also know other bloggers who left comments on his blog asking about why their applications are still pending or suspended.

    I'll try to ask him next time. :)

  5. Jaypee,

    I think we meant the PinoyTopBlogs directory :) am i right Prab?

    Yeah, to whoever gets nominated, good luck na lang :)

  6. @Dre – Yup, it's very exciting! :D

    @Joni – Hehehe..Just nominate who you think belongs or is worthy to be in the list. I'm posting about this Blog Awards in an effort to help promote the event, not my blog. :)

    @Prab – I'm still confused coz you didn't mention where you submitted your application. I'm trying to guess here, but is it for PinoyTopBlogs?

    @jhay – Exciting indeede! You have a well established blog that belongs to the one of the main niches, you have well written posts and you have a lot of readers. I believe that you have a shot at it. Good luck! :D

  7. This is really exciting. I'm seriously considering of joining the blog awards. The first time I ever entered my blog into a contest of some sort. Good luck to everyone! :D

  8. I think new members' accounts go to the suspended accounts status when they sign up, and only go to active status as soon as the site master verifies that it's a Filipino blog. It's taken them ages it seems.

  9. @Prab – Me up there? I'm not so sure about that, although it would be nice to be part of it. Where is your blog suspended?

    @verns – Yeah, can't wait to see which blogs get nominated and who wins the various categories and special awards. :)

    @Euri – It's open to everybody as long as you're Filipino, your blog is non-corporate and it belongs to one of the three main niches. There's no harm in joining, it would be a good experience. As for me, I'm not gonna submit my site, but "IF" I do get nominated, it would be great! :)

    @dimaks – Are you talking about the same issue as Prab? Do you mean suspended in the blog awards or for something else? I'm sorry but I don't quite get it.

    The Blog Awards will be a success with the support of sponsors and the Pinoy blogging community.

  10. I kinda feel it sucks, until now my site is also still suspended in status and I thought, i've signed up for more than a couple of months ago.. and also sent several emails to yuga too. He never does reply.

    This blog awards will be a great event i think :)

  11. I'm still having second thoughts about joining. :) My blog isn't that worthy to be a part of it. At least, in my opinion. In your case, however, that is without a doubt. :)

  12. While I don't doubt that you're blog will be among those up there, it's just sad na suspended pa rin yung status ng site ko, even after more than a month. -_-;
